2 months old!!

Jakob is finally 2 months old!!! He has his 2-month check on Friday and will have his first round of shots. He doesn't care, but mommy sure is nervous. Mamaw has been staying with us the last few days to help out while daddy is on his trip and the baby sitter is out of town. Jake has really enjoyed having the extra company...as has Heiko! Jake is smiling all of the time now and is even trying to laugh sometimes. He's also having lots of fun with tummy time, but only for a few minutes before he lets everyone know he is done. He's getting so strong that when he does tummy time on the Boppy he can bring his head up to eye level with us. We'll update with the vital stats after the appointment on Friday. Our 1st Mother's Day!!

6 Week Update

Jakob is now 6 six weeks old and his umbilical cord has finally fallen off!!! It held on until Tuesday night's last diaper change before bed and then it was under his diaper.

We all also survived our first weekend visit to Brazil so that Jason could go to drill. It was a very busy weekend going to Greencastle Saturday morning for Izaiah's soccer game, back to Brazil for the afternoon, then going to spend time at Pop-Pop's Saturday night and then to Granny's on Sunday. Jake did much better than expected still sleeping through the night at Mamaw & Paw's...even with 2 cats and Izaiah there too:) While we were there on Sunday, Paw brought home a really big mushroom he found at Aunt Tammy & Uncle Chris's property. Here is a picture of Izaiah holding the mushroom, although he really didn't want to touch it (he's a little Monk at times)!

Jakob is really smiling now! He really likes to pet Heiko and the cat just lets him pet him. Jake has also started playing on his play mat and really trying to get the toys. It's very cute because his legs are still shorter than the rest of him so he just kicks and kicks until his arms get the toys.
